The Fool's Gift

Bloom County creator Berke Breathed published his "April Fool's Joke" suggesting that Calvin and Hobbes cartoonist Bill Watterson had come out of retirement to collaborate with him in on a new strip.

It is, of course, not true. But even the one strip published to make the joke is awesome. This is how you win April Fool's Day:

that is a thing of wonder.

I vastly prefer these kinds of gags to the things like buttered doorknobs or gags designed to "take the mick out of" a person (I guard what shreds of dignity I have as jealously as a cat. Well, a cat that isn't Bill, I guess)

It is awesome, isn't it? He did something similar last year but not as elaborate and not a full-color Sunday strip.
