My favorite bit, though, was when he was returned to the power plant (after one of his many hare-brained schemes) and someone put up a sign in his office saying
DON'T FORGET YOU'RE HERE FOREVER
and he managed to modify it, with pictures of Maggie, to read
DO IT FOR HER
Yeah, at his base Homer -- and Al too, for that matter, was a dad who cared.
